A month after the shipwreck. Third/fourth month. The family still look to each other - and often the dear Lord - for comfort, support and guidance as they struggle with life in the natural world which at times feels like a tropical paradise and other times like a prison. As always, through Ernst's narration and his diary we view life on the island though his eyes and realize that the Robinsons have been shipwrecked for approximately six months. Month sixteen. Life is idyllic for the little community. The farm is flourishing and everyone is preparing for the forthcoming marriage of Ben and Joanna. Unknown to the family, Parsons and Bonnie Mary arrive back on the island in their pirate ship,

Storyline: While Lt. Hornblower studies for his promotion exam, he is distracted by the serious supply problems that face his crew. They soon come across a sunken British supply ship and rescue its Captain, 'Dreadnought' Foster, a man with a reputation for bravery that some consider borders on foolishness. Tempers are short with the crew after they are put on half rations due to the lack of supplies. After acquiring more supplies, Hornblower finds himself in charge of a supply ship when it is feared that plague may also be aboard. He soon makes it to Gibraltar, but when the enemy send a fire ship into the harbor, he must act quickly to avert disaster.
