Boia di Venezia, Il [aka Blood of the Executioner] (1963)
Director: Luigi Capuano
Writers: Milton Krims (screenplay), Ottavio Poggi (story), Luigi Capuano (uncredited) and Arpad DeRiso (uncredited)
Cast: Lex Barker [Sandrigo Bembo], Guy Madison [Rodrigo Zeno], Alessandra Panaro [Leonora Danin], Mario Petri [Boia Guarnieri], Alberto Farnese [Michele Arcà], Giulio Marchetti [Bartolo], Feodor Chaliapin Jr. [Doge Giovanni Bembo], Franco Fantasia [Pietro], Raf Baldassarre [Messere Grimani], Mirella Roxy [Smeralda], Marija Tocinoski, John Bartha [Messere Leonardo, as Gianni Barta], Attilio Severini, Giulio Maculani, Giuliana Farnese
Storyline: Costumed actioner set in the city and benefiting from being filmed in and around the canals. the plot has to do with intrigue concerning the titled character and the inquisition. Its a costumed swashbuckler of the sort they don't make any more and rarely did they ever look this good or have such a great sense of place. Its a shame that a good letterboxed version of this film doesn't seem to be out there since the pan and scan version I saw often had confrontations with invisible men (speaking characters have been chopped out of the frame). the cast headed, by Lex Barker and Guy Madison, is quite good, even when dubbed into English. Its a nice movie for a rainy afternoon, when you want to just sit and watch some adventures from a bygone time.

Writer: David Detiege (story)
Cast: Dal McKennon [Inspector Willoughby, voice]
Storyline: In the old days, sailing the seven seas was dangerous as pirates were at large. But, as the narrator tells us, "That was all in the past!" Not so. A modern-day pirate, "One-Eyed" Jack Hook, is caught holding up a battleship. Everyone flees the ship but Inspector Willoughby is assigned to bring justice to the lawbreaker. Amanda, however, fired with the blood of her proud and brave fore-fathers, does not quake and tremble before the tyrant who has taken her prisoner aboard his ship. Determined not to be sold into slavery, she escapes and takes refuge on an island where she meets Samson, a man whose ire is as legendary as Murad's cruelty. Samson is moved both by Amanda's horrific story and by her looks. He decides to go and teach Murad a lesson, and so with Amanda and a friend, Ganor, he sets off for devil's island. Here the excitement reaches new heights as the sheer brutality and violence of earlier scenes is now tempered with bravery and valour. The film ends with the suspence melting into a rewarding romantic finish between Amanda and Samson.
